Eligibility Criteria:

In order to apply for undergraduate courses in universities of Australia:

  • Candidates should have completed 3 years of graduation from a recognized college or university in any stream.
  • Candidates should have scored an aggregate of 50% or more in graduation.
  • Candidate must have completed the degree course within the stipulated time with no-year back. (Example: B.Com is a 3-year degree. Aspirant should have completed it within 3 years span and not more than that. Likewise, Engineering is a 4-year degree. Aspirant should have completed engineering within 4 years and not more.)
  • Candidate should not have more than 10 backlogs during his/her graduation.

Academic Requirements

Candidates need to provide details of their education including course subjects and grades in the application. Candidates also need to submit an official transcript from the college or university from where they did their graduation. You need to provide the attested copy of the following:

Acceptable Sources of Funds for a Student Visa to Australia:

Once you have determined the course and the college in Australia, the next step is to compile your credentials and other documents before you lodge your visa application. Besides, you will have to provide evidence to prove that you have sufficient resources to cover your tuition fee and other schools costs, along with travel and living expenses in Australia.

Here are the conditions given by the Department of Immigration and Border Protection (or DIBP) regarding the fund that you will use for your studies:

You will have to prove that the funds that you have accumulated are from legitimate sources.

The funds that you will accumulate must be readily available to you during your stay in Australia as a student;

The definition of “acceptable individual” must be met by your sponsors. An acceptable individual would fall in any of the category below:

  • Yourself
  • Your spouse or your de facto partner (if applicable)
  • One of your parents

Sources of Funds Acceptable When Assessing a Student Visa Application are as Follows:

Money deposited by yourself, your parent(s) or your spouse with a financial institution, for at least 6 months prior to your student visa application.

Commercial loans from financial institutions. A Financial Institution can be a bank or any other institution providing loans. You have to be cautious about loans as you will have to provide evidence that you will be able to pay back your loan.

Loans or sponsorship from the national or state government of your home country. In this case, you will have to submit a letter from the relevant government agency to support your claim.

Scholarship or financial support from the proposed Australian education provider.

The Annual Income Requirement is the minimum annual income that is required to cover the expenses of your studies in Australia.

If you are travelling alone, you must have evidence that your parents or your spouse (who will not be accompanying you) meet the annual income requirement of AUD 60,000.

If you are accompanied by family members, then the annual income requirement is AUD70,000.

If both your parents are working, then use their combined income to fulfill the requirement mentioned above.

Documents proving that you are able to meet the annual income requirement must necessarily be in the form of official government documents such as tax assessments.
